“Draufhaber.tv” (Dabhand.tv) aims at young people to demonstrate their skills in video. While performance videos are already part of the video-cosmos of YouTube, our research has shown that only few young people are willing to share their videos because of a negative communication culture.

“Draufhaber.tv” is different from existing video platform because of three main features:

• Trained social workers will extend their work to the platform as “cyberworkers”, encouraging constructive communication among the users, sanctioning destructive behavior like bullying.
• It provides social bookmarking function. Users cannot only upload videos but collect videos from other platforms, links, and documents. This will enable users to create knowledge repository which might lead to a stronger recognition of own interests.
• Users will be able to select a produced video and integrate it into their job application to demonstrate their skills to future employers.

The platform is itself the proof of our success. www.draufhaber.tv is going public beta in September 2010. The platform is the result of scientific knowledge about online communities and up-to-date media pedagogic combined with professional programming and design. The next steps are a professional media campaign to raise the attention to the new platform, accompanied with workshops and trainig materials for teachers to integrate the platform in the formal educational processes.
