“Implementing the Digital Agenda in the North Sea Region – good practises, challenges and opportunities”

The aim of the DANS Cluster Kick-off conference is to bring the Digital Agenda for Europe to a more regional level and to show how activities and projects implemented in the frame of the Interreg North Sea Region Programme can contribute to it. Major results as well as some good practices from the Interreg IVB NSR projects “Creative City Challenge”, “Smart Cities” and “E-CLIC” will be presented and will showcase the “northern” way of implementing the Digital Agenda.

Industrial Design Center is an open knowledge and ‘research through design lab’. It is a communication platform between the industry and the product design education & research programs offered through Howest University College.

The HAW-Hamburg is  hosting a “Night of Creativity”  as a part of the HAMBURG ART WEEK (see the link for further details www.hamburgartweek.de). The event will take place on the 24^th of June 2011. The venue is the Media Campus Hamburg (Finkenau 35) which will open its doors to visitors from 17:00-22:00.

As a part of the European Creativity and Innovation Day 2011 the HAW-Hamburg is presenting a CCC-workshop ”From Endless Discussions to Efficient Meetings”. It will be a follow up of the successful workshop ”From the Creative Idea to The Strategic Concept” presented last year. Creative entrepreneurs/employees are invited to participate in this event.

The creative sector, which encompasses the music branch, films, the arts, television/radio, software and games among others, is responsible for over 1 million jobs across the EU and is vital to the cultural life of European cities. The innovation sector, another pillar of  the European economy, has greatly supported the economic growth of European countries by creating new products, developing new approaches or methods, which were dreams yesterday (e.g. mobile phones, wireless connections or wind energy) but which are reality today.
